Standing upright, man looked down, his hands no longer thick, clumsy, and apish. Gazing toward iridescent cinders burning in the black field above, he positioned himself in time and space. The schism complete - beast and man divided, separate, and opposed. Servile creature wounded by spears, hung in reverse, draining life. A seedling emerges from the blood-soaked soil. He turns his sight inward, seeking the locus of his existence. In an entheogenic haze the dichotomy dissolves; the atavistic union of man and beast in monstrous forms. Ecstatic visions stained in charcoal and ochre. A lion’s head helms the vessel.
